What this means for Oklahoma

Oklahoma's Data Center Consumer Ratepayer Protection Act (HB 2992), signed by Governor Stitt in May 2026, requires data center developers to cover their own energy infrastructure costs and prohibits those costs from being passed to Oklahoma families or small businesses

Investment is already here. Google has invested $15 billion in Oklahoma, and announced $9 billion in additional investment — generating construction employment, long-term operations jobs and property tax revenue for communities (Google blog, August 2025; Google Data Centers)

Data center developers have committed to paying more than $330 million in PILOT funding for schools, emergency response, and public services across Oklahoma.*

Tulsa County Data Center to Fund New Infrastructure and 160+ Apprenticeships

New data center development in Tulsa County is bringing investment in infrastructure and workforce development alongside new facilities. A Google data center campus will fund a new electric substation and 1.5 miles of new water lines and related upgrades and support an electrical training program expected to add more than 160 apprentices in Oklahoma by 2030.
